Springtime Furniture Buying
When purchasing wood furniture there are a few important points to remember. First of all make sure to check the quality of the wood used by looking at construction technique and joint assembly.
If you are confused about solid wood versus veneer and laminate remember that hard wood carries more detail as the grains go all the way through, as veneer and laminate are thin slices of wood bonded to another composite type of wood like plywood. Also hardwoods tend to be found more in construction of upholstery as they are stronger and less likely to dent.
Finishes and cleaning are based on the type of wood furniture you purchase. We can always give tips on proper cleaning procedures so always ask if you have a question.
Remember when buying wood it’s all about what is important to you, both in style and construction. Don’t let the price tag be a deterrent for you, always consider what it is you really want in a piece of wood furniture.
